Hello and Welcome. I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I work with adults of all ages and specialize in working with young adults. Therapeutic areas of focus in my practice are relationship issues (with yourself & with others), communication, interpersonal conflict, boundaries and vulnerability, depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, life skills & social skills, grief & loss, career confusion, and life transitions.
I welcome and honor all aspects of diversity and intersectionality. I will meet you where you are, to support your discovery process, as you understand, gain perspective, and find the tools that support your goals. Therapy is a great place to get to know the many aspects of yourself and to connect or re-connect to aspects that may have become alienated at some point in your life.
I work with individuals and offer adjunct sessions with significant others. With an integrative approach, I utilize different therapeutic approaches based on a client's unique needs. Some of these include psychodynamic, systems, CBT, gestalt, attachment, and somatic approaches. My style is down-to-earth and direct, as well as compassionate and present. We heal in connection and the right fit with a therapist is vital so I will pay attention to whether you're getting your needs met in therapy and, if needed, refer to other healthcare professionals. I would be happy to further discuss my outlook and approach with you.
With deep listening and support, curiosity, humor, and clarity, I would be honored to work with you - Let's get started!
What to expect from therapy.
The therapeutic process involves getting to know yourself better — your beliefs, feelings, and history, along with your needs, wants, and desires. Most people benefit greatly from learning about how they relate to their world, whether relating to themselves, family, friends, partners, coworkers, or the greater world of work, school, and society. As you get to know and connect to yourself, you discover how you react and respond, what "works" for you, and what might need some shifting. This will support you to find a greater sense of control and possibility in your life. And as you make desired changes in yourself, you will often find that others in your life are more likely to shift too.
Therapy begins with information gathering and assessment of your issues and symptoms.
The initial sessions are when we figure out "what's going on" and why. We find out what you want to change in order to get your needs met - and then we go about working on ways to achieve those changes. The therapy process can be as long or as short as you need it to be. Some people need a few sessions to get clear on a life problem they're grappling with, while others want more deep processing of their past and present. Therapy is also a great place for maintenance of change and weekly check-ins.
Transition and change are not always easy, but with deep caring and support, the journey can be exciting and completely rewarding. I am open and happy to talk with you on the phone or over email with questions or concerns before you make your first appointment.
I am currently accepting private pay clients. Session fees are $130 for individual clients.
Payment can be made by check, Venmo, or Zelle at the time of the session.
I am also in network with CenCal and UCSHIP insurance.
For private pay clients, I can provide a super bill for possible out of network insurance reimbursement or to possibly use as a medical write-off. I sometimes have spots open for a sliding scale fee for those with financial necessity.
At this time, sessions are conducted through telehealth using Zoom. I hope to be able to offer in-person sessions again soon.
Individual therapy sessions are usually 50 - 60 minutes long.
Please call or email with any questions or to make an appointment.
I look forward to connecting.
